Margaret Huang is the founder/CEO of Credence LLC. Margaret is skilled in leading change initiatives large and small through periods of accelerated change. She has worked as a senior executive in mortgage insurance, railcar equipment leasing and international business in Asia for companies such as GE Capital, GE International, Jardine Matheson, She has also served as an executive on the head office staff of two national nonprofits – Facing History and Playworks.
Margaret founded Credence in 2020 because she felt the window of opportunity for change had widened during the pandemic and in the wake of the Black Lives Matter protests that ignited over the death of George Floyd. She noted that the conversation had shifted to a widespread acknowledgement of “systemic racism” and that there was increasing consensus that the U.S. had reached an inflection point. However, she also noticed that senior leaderships were afraid of doing the wrong thing or just unsure of what to do next. She felt a sense of urgency to offer a process to help leaders teams build confidence in themselves that they can “learn how to get it right” as a team and ensure that the inflection point is converted into positive advances in systemic changes to support greater equity, increased diversity, and an authentic sense of belonging in organizations.
Margaret has served on the board of East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation (EBALDC) since 2018 and is the current chair of their Resource Development Committee. She has a B.A.in political science from Swarthmore College, a masters from UC San Diego’s School or Global Policy and Strategy. She resides in downtown Oakland, is a walkaholic and speaks Mandarin.
